Perfecting the Rules for Designers and Players

Game Design Assistance

At DNB Gaming, we understand how disjointed the game design process can be. Many game designers, either individuals or a team, often have to split their time between designing, attending conventions, packaging and working on other games, as well as the myriad other tasks that come up in the boardgame industry. So we have come up with a solution to help game designers use their time more efficiently as follows.

  1. Via Zoom, or the designers preferred video conference, DNB attends the designers’ session of game design. As the designers make notes and determine what the designers think the theme, objectives, and game mechanics will be, DNB takes notes of the session also.
  2. The designers send DNB Gaming pictures of their notes, board designs, cards, and other ideas that the designers have come up with.
  3. DNB compiles everything into a document (the beginnings of the rulebook) and sends this information back to the game designers.
  4. When the next game design session begins, the designers have a logically constructed set of notes to refer to—without having to locate pieces of paper, note stickies, and memory. Decisions that have been made are already in a printed document that is easily referred to.
  5. DNB Gaming will repeat this process as many times as needed, until the game design is complete.
