We Have a Collaborative Approach

At DNB Gaming, we like to collaborate with our game designers and rulebook writers. Beyond standardizing punctuation and grammar, we work with you so that your rulebook makes sense to game players. We also help your rulebook language fit the target audience, based on age. And we don’t just make changes arbitrarily, we ask questions, converse with you, and make suggestions — but you have the final say. In other words, DNB collaborates with you because, ultimately, it’s up to the game designer to determine their own voice. DNB Gaming helps you perfect yours.

DNB Gaming provides:

• Copyediting (or Line Editing): DNB corrects grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure where needed. We also look at spelling and making sure the words match the pictures when needed. And what about homonyms? Are you confusing ‘their’ with ‘they’re’, ‘your’ with ‘you’re’, or ‘to’ with ‘too’?
• Rules Translation: For games that were developed in another country and rulebooks that were translated into English, many times these translations don’t make sense. (Think of the last time you tried to follow the instructions to build something manufactured in a foreign country.) DNB can re-write that loose translation to fit English vernacular.
• Graphics: DNB can work with your simple artwork and manipulate the images to fit your rulebook. We can also create graphics from scratch, including photographics so that players have a better understanding of how the game should be set up, what cards look like, or what game play may look like in the middle or at the end of the game. We can also locate stock photos for your rulebook.
